GSDBA Volunteer Committees
To promote its effectiveness, GSDBA requires committees to determine specific goals and objectives, monitor progress, and report to the Board on their accomplishments. The authority for these provisions rests with the Board and all committee members are volunteers.
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
PURPOSE: To oversee the implementation of the organization’s strategic plan by furthering the mission, goals, and activities of the GSDBA. Chaired by the Board Chair and consists of all officers and the immediate Past Board Chair if he or she is on the Board. (Rev. 4/16/2008)

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

PROGRAM COMMITTEE
Chair: Todd Gabello
PURPOSE: Develops and plans organization events such as mixers, luncheons, special events, the signature event, and general meetings in coordination with the Chief Executive Officer. (Rev. 4/16/2008)
FINANCE COMMITTEE
Chair: Tom Welch
PURPOSE: Oversees the finances of the organization, reviews budgets for each class and prepares the annual organization budget. Chaired by the Treasurer. (Rev. 4/16/2008)
BUSINESS NETWORKING GROUPS COMMITTEE
Chair: Cory Russo
PURPOSE: Oversees a structured forum for facilitators of the Business Networking Groups (BNGs) to insure that BNGs provide a productive networking environment for the support and growth of member businesses. (Rev. 4/16/2008)
AMBASSADORS COMMITTEE
Chair: Dora Guillen
Co-Chair: Jonathan Olow
PURPOSE: Create and maintain a volunteer base for the organization to staff mixers and other events. Welcome new members and assist them in making connections within GSDBA. Submit a bimonthly newsletter article featuring a new GSDBA member. (Rev. 4/16/2008)
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
Chair: Fred Shadlow
Co-Chair: Kevin Atto
PURPOSE: Develops and delivers services that support the growth and success of members’ businesses. Services could be programs such as seminars, consulting services, mentoring, expos or any program that meets real needs of member businesses and adds value to their membership in GSDBA. Promotes, governs and evaluates the Affinity for Business Groups Program. (Rev. 4/16/2008)
CORPORATE OUTREACH COMMITTEE
Chair: Marci Bair
PURPOSE: The mission of the GSDBA Corporate Outreach program is to develop an overall strategy with a defined approach by which the GSDBA can execute its goal of attracting partnership and sponsorship opportunities; to build long term relationships with these opportunities; and ultimately to be branded as the direct link between GSDBA members and the San Diego business community. ADVOCACY COMMITTEE
Chair: Eric D. Brown
PURPOSE: Working under the direction of the Board of Directors, the Advocacy Committee will have the responsibility to publicly advocate for public policies consistent with GSDBA mission and core values. The public policy priorities of premier concern to GSDBA are attaining full business equality for GSDBA members and full equality for LGBT persons. (7/15/2008)
